  Atheists - How Did You Become An Atheist After Waking Up?

  i consider myself an atheist.

  and right now i'm reading a lot on atheism in general (books written to answer creationists).. i'd be interested in knowing how you became an atheist after leaving the jws and how long did it take?

  was it instant or did your belief in a deity gradually decline?.

  Crazyguy asked, "Does anyone know or does the Bible state when the Jonah story supposedly happen?"

  I'm not a "Bible scholar" but Wikipedia says, "Jonah is the name given in the Hebrew Bible to a prophet of Israel in about the 8th century BCE."

  I think the WTB&TS teaches that Jonah lived last Thursday.

  talking about tomorrow's wt study, that mentions over a quarter of a million baptized every year, a jw asked how many that is a day.

  i got out my calculator and answered over 778 a day.

  of course they were amazed at the growth, but immediatly i googled another statistic and read it aloud:.

  I am proud to say that Grace Gough (Mouthy was her nick-name here) was a friend of mine. A gracious and kind woman who fought against cultic evil like a valkyrie! She will be remembered fondly.

  I offer this challenge to those who thank Grace for her kindness to them: WHAT are YOU doing to "pay it forward"?

  I sometimes wonder what the world would be like if "Religion" had never reared it`s head.?

  can you imagine what the world of mankind would be like if their was never any concept of a god or religious beliefs ?.

  Dating “worldly” woman

  i feel like i’ve overcome a massive hurdle in my awakening, and that’s the issue of dating a non witness woman.. the org has always demonised dating “worldly” people so that we won’t be unevenly yoked.

  heck, it’s just a date, marriage is a loooong way off!!.

  going to an off the beaten track part of london to avoid bumping into anyone, nice 3 course meal and a little drink after :-).
